It’s not very often that you get booked to photograph an elopment AND a wedding - but that’s exactly what happened here.
So you know all those American movies and TV shows were people can just register online to become a marriage celebrant? It ain’t like that in Australia! It’s a 12 month course, that can cost thousands of dollars! And when you really, really want your best friend to marry you at your wedding - what do you do instead?
You book a secret elopement.
That’s what these two lovebirds did, because they just knew their big wedding day wouldn’t feel right if they were married by a stranger, and they were determined to personalise every single second of the day to make sure it was a reflection of them and their personalities.
So a few days before their epic wedding day (which is also coming to the blog soon) Alec and Sian were legally married by the beautiful Jess, surrounded by their immediate family members on the grounds of Alec’s old home. It was such an intimate and emotional afternoon…they were both way more emotional than they thought they would be, and there wasn’t really a dry eye in the house by the end of the ceremony. And how could I not capture all the love and joy Alec and Sian were feeling afterwards (I think these might be some of my favourite couples wedding photos ever)!
