Mummy + Me
Celebrating Mums on Mother’s Day
When was the last time you were in the photo with your kids?
It sounds morbid - but what if something was to happen to you tomorrow, and you were no longer here? How many photos of you would your kids have to remember you by, and to see how loved they are?
My guess is not many - because the one thing I hear over and over and over is that mums are always behind the camera, never in front of it.
It’s so incredibly important for your kids. Your kids need to see you, they need proof that you exist.
It’s all about what it feels like, not just what it looks like.
It’s pretty easy to get caught up in thoughts like “I’m too fat - better lose weight before I pay for professional photos”…
But let me ask you a question - try looking back at some photos of you and your mum together when you were a kid - do you care what she looked like, are you judgmental of her weight or appearance? I mean, the fashion in the 70s, 80s and 90s can be pretty entertaining sometimes, but beyond that, I bet you’re just mostly grateful to have those photos of you and her.
If you don’t have any photos of your mum, try looking back at some photos of yourself from ten years ago. At the time, you probably had similar thoughts as you do now, but I bet you think you look bangin’ hot and are wondering what the heck you were worried about.
In ten, twenty, thirty, fifty years from now - I’m pretty sure you aren’t gonna give two hoots about what you looked like, and your kids are going to be as equally grateful to have those photos of you too.

FAQs
What happens if it rains?
In the event of rainy weather, sessions will be held at my natural light home studio in Point Cook.
Can my mum & SISTER come along too?
Absolutely! If this is a session for you + your mum only (no children) then you can just book on spot. If you are wanting your children + your own mum to come along, I do ask that you book a second spot. Twenty minutes is enough time for one adult + children, it becomes pretty chaotic and stressful to try and include a second adult (and the photos are often more “posed” in order to get through all the different photo combinations). If there are no back to back spot left, please contact me directly and I’ll find a time for you.
WHAT HAPPENS IF ONE OF US IS SICK?
If you or one of your kiddos is sick, I do ask that you contact me to let me know. It may be the case I’ll get you to reschedule, and if we can’t find a different day/time that works, then I’ll give you a refund. Pretty much every year I always end up rescheduling a couple of people due to illness, so don’t stress too much if this happens!
WORRIED ABOUT YOUR APPEARANCE? The kids being bbratty?
You’re not alone - almost all of my clients feel a little anxious about being in front of the camera. There are a lot of reasons to feel anxious - whether it’s because you feel a bit awkward, or you’re worried about your weight or the kids misbehaving.
I’ve got lots of tips and tricks to get the kids engaged, and I’ve got the same number of tips to help soothe those anxieties and get you feeling comfortable in front of the camera. The number one thing I want you to know is that at the end of the day, it doesn't matter what you look like. So many mama's hide behind the camera because they are self-conscious about their weight (I feel you, I am too).
What I really want to do, is to capture the real you. Not what or who you see before you in the mirror, I want to capture the person we see, your husband sees, your children see. The way your whole face lights up when your child laughs, how you melt around your little one as you squeeze them tight. The way you look at your loved ones, and the way they look at you. What you look like when lost in thought, and how your laugh lines crinkle around your eyes that show you have lived a life full of love and laughter.
That sounds a whole lot better than just standing awkwardly at the camera and saying ‘cheeeeeese’ a million times - right?
