BRIGHTON BEACH + SAVOY WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHER

These two lovely souls originally hail from Ireland, and spending the day surrounded by lovely lilting Irish accents was absolutely not a hardship (I’m even more determined to visit Ireland one day)!

THE WEDDING DAY

For those of you who live in Melbourne, you might remember a stinking hot 45+ degree summers day, early in January 2019 that ended swiftly with a cold shift that brought rain and saw the temperatures plummet from 40+ down to 18 degrees in less than an hour.

Well friends, that day happened to be this day - the wedding of Mark and Caroline. Not that you’d know from looking at these photos, because these beautiful souls didn’t let any of that make an impact on their day, even when the cold change swept through just in time for our photo shoot along the beach. We went from burning alive to freezing SO quickly I felt like I had whiplash!

I knew it was going to be an excellent day from the very first second I arrived at Caroline’s house in the morning to capture her getting ready. Her parents welcomed me with a hug and a grin and seemed to know exactly who I was, and then they told me how excited they were to meet me and how they’d been following me on Instagram. Their warmth and kindness blew me away, and those qualities are something that everyone I met throughout the whole day held.

The joy everyone had from being reunited with their friends and family who had traveled from Ireland for the big day was infectious, and I have so many favourite moments from the day. I think my favourite though, has to belong to the First Look Caroline shared with her dad. And his reaction melts my heart every time I look through the photos.
