ABBOTSFORD CONVENT WEDDING

Time has lost all meaning to me this year - apparently is SEPTEMBER 2020 and I’ve worked for maybe only 8 weeks total so far thanks to COVID-19…!

Also, it’s probably lost all meaning for a little longer than that, because as I was going through my blog + photo archives over this lockdown I realised that somehow this insanely beautiful wedding I photographed in 2018 somehow never made it to the blog?! Whut?!

So here we are - some of my favourite photos from an absolutely gorgeous venue!

ABOUT THE WEDDING DAY

Olly says her secret hobby is napping, and she loves to take naps so much that they kind of planned their whole wedding day around being able to go home afterwards and have a nap. GOALS. Ladies and Gents, take notes, coz this is how you plan a wedding day that is unique to you!

I still remember this day so clearly - it started early; the girls were up in the wee hours of the morning having hair and makeup done before heading down to the Abbotsford Convent for a first look between Bernie and Olly.

All first looks are special, this one was no exception to that rule! These two were so adorable, they were shaking with excitement (and a little bit of nerves)…and Bernie’s face the moment he saw Olly *I melted into a puddle of love*.

These two chose to have a mid-morning ceremony followed by a lunch time reception - I know from my perspective it was totally awesome being able to head home in the afternoon and still have so much of the day left to rest (and nap). I know as a photographer I’m always telling my brides and grooms to soak in every moment of the day because it goes so fast, and while that still held true on this day, it also felt much more relaxed. And I just think it’s really cool that everyone got to go home and have a rest afterwards, and then go out for dinner and keep the celebrations going.

Another thing I very clearly remember are the speeches - Olly and Bernie had allocated 30 minutes or so for speeches….but they went for almost 90 minutes in the end! Instead of parents making a joint speech, they decided to all speak individually. But as you’ll see from the photos, no one really cared because the speeches were all hilarious haha!

You’ll find a list of awesome vendors at the end of this blog post.

Happy second anniversary Olly + Bernie ♥ I hope you are more in love today than you were on this day.

Big love,

L xo
