Neil + Sherry

MELBOURNE ENGAGEMENT PHOTOGRAPHER

What’s the point of having an engagement photography session before the wedding? You’re going to get heaps of photos from your wedding, so isn’t this just overkill??

No hecking way!

Here’s what I have to say about that:

  • How many photos do you have of you together that are print-worthy? We’ve all got heaps of selfies, but a selfie is totally different to a photo of you being and laughing together, cuddling and snuggling and having fun!

  • Variety is the spice of life! You don’t want the only photos that you hang on your walls to be from one event. Your life together is so much more than just one day!'

  • If your session is held early enough, my clients often use these photos as part of their Save the Date / wedding invitations, and many clients also print the photos out to display them at the wedding reception.

  • Your wedding photos will likely have a slightly more formal feel to them - it’s a unique day that we don’t experience very often and photos of the day are so special - but so are photos of every day life.

And the best reason to have a couples session before your wedding day is to give you experience being in front of the camera (especially helpful if one or both of you feel awkward having your photo taken). You know what to expect, and you’ll know just how much fun it is - and actually look forward to your wedding photos!

These are some of my favourite photos from my pre-wedding couples session with Neil and Sherry last year. We wandered Melbourne CBD, had some deeeeelicious icecream and watched the sunset behind the city along the Yarra River. I had the best time with these two (and their wedding was such a blast).

xx
