Andres + Sheryl · Melbourne City Wedding

In the week leading up to Andres and Sheryl's wedding, the weather forecast was looking a little scary - rain, rain and more rain. Allll day! I was basically prepared for Armageddon/World War Three - I had multiple umbrellas, plastic bags, spare outfits in case I got drenched, towels, back up plans, you name it and I probably had it!

The day started off with the lads hanging out (and being super chill) with the groom's family! The two little flower girls were the cutest, and were so excited to be wearing their beautiful dresses and seeing Andres and Sheryl get married.  They'd been looking forward to it for weeks, and were hyperactive with excitement.

After spending some time with Andres, I headed off to the city to meet Sheryl who was equally chill and relaxed!  Chill brides are my favourite!  Andres and Sheryl had chosen to only have a best man and maid of honpur, so both groups were pretty quiet and relaxed in the morning. Being able to hang out and have a chat, while taking photographs of the girls getting ready and all the beautiful details is just such a nice way to start every wedding! Brides often ask me if I get bored, and the answer is never! I love getting to know you all, and pottering around listening to you laugh and chat and get pampered!

Also - how beautiful is Sheryl's dress?! It was made by one of her best friends Angelica Prado - how lovely is that?!

It rained a few times while the girls were getting ready, but the weather wasn't as bad as predicted - it started to rain as Sheryl made her way to the ceremony, but less than five minutes into the ceremony the sun came out, and stayed for the rest of their ceremony.

The ceremony was at St Thomas Aquinas Church in South Yarra - and I fell so in love with it's big beautiful blue front doors!! ♥♥

Andres and Sheryl gave me almost 90 minutes of their time after the ceremony for photos (say whaaat)! And as they only had a small bridal party, they wanted to spend the portrait time celebrating their wedding and the love they have (music to my ears) - the longer the time I can get with you, the better!!!!!!

We spent our time wandering around the Melbourne Botanical Gardens, the clouds came back over just as we arrived but the rain held off until the end. I was kind of excited that we had some rainy weather, as it meant that I got to finally use the clear umbrellas I have stashed away!

Afterwards we headed off to the reception, which was at Carousel Cafe, at Albert Park Lak. Such a beautiful venue, with awesome views of the city!

Andres' speech made us all cry, multiple times, which is all you can really ask for; and the dancing was pretty epic!  The award for best dancer goes to the flower girls FOR SURE!

Thank you Andres + Sheryl for letting me capture your big day!!

Much love, Lecinda ♥

What Andres + Sheryl had to say...

"At the beginning we a little indifferent to looking for a photographer because we were worried that we would spend a lot of money and maybe be left with a so so result. Lecinda was recommended to us by our friends, and was the only photographer we met with - that was all we needed because once we met her we loved her! She was incredibly personable, warm and also didn't try to oversell us on anything.

She is very personable and easy to talk with so that was great for us to get out of our shell a bit. It was also great to see how she got along and interacted with our guests. We were all amazed you stayed so late with us!

Watching our slideshow was so awesome, we got to relive the whole day and night.  We were so surprised, because for most of the reception we didnt realise she was walking about taking snaps and so when going through all the photos, and you can tell the photos are natural and really captured the moment.

We wouldn't go back and do it any other way, and we totally feel like we would have regretted it if we didn't choose Lecinda!"
